•  Foundations of Ayurveda:  An Introduction to the Art & Science of Self-Healing
    Next class: February, 2011!

Learn about the wisdom of Ayurveda, India's ancient system of natural health and healing, in this four-week class designed to give you a strong foundation in the main concepts and principles of Ayurveda.  Ayurveda is an amazing science that provides a framework to understand your own unique constitution and support healthfulness in body, mind and spirit.  In this class we will learn about the foundational concepts of Ayurveda including the five elements, the doshas (biological humors), gunas (qualities), dinacharya (daily practices), agni (the digestive fire), energetics of foods and much more. Ayurveda provides a framework which you can use to support yourself in a lifetime of good health and self-healing.  Please join me in learning about this incredible ancient system of personal health empowerment.  The cost is $108 for the four classes.  Pre-registration is required.  Scholarships are available.

"Ayurveda defines life as the conjunction of body, mind and spirit found in cosmic Consciousness and embracing all of Creation."  ~  Dr. Vasant Lad

Quote from recent participant, February 2010:  “....w/the literally 40 years of self-exploration that I have done both personally and professionally, this has added another really supportive and helpful dimension to my current journey, and I am so grateful to you and your gentle wisdom for offering it.  Thank you for creating a beautiful and transformative experience."  ~ Barbara Hanna, Psychotherapist, Ellsworth, Maine

•  Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is a specific technique using bolsters, blankets and props to support the body, which is in a completely relaxed, passive state.  The body is then gently stretched by surrendering into the supported posture.  Restorative yoga is great for releasing tension, rejuvenating your system, and giving yourself a mini-vacation!  No yoga experience is necessary.  If you have any major physical limitations and would like to attend, please call or email me so I can accommodate your needs.  Space is limited and pre-registration is required.  Here are the details:

  •  Fall Nourish & Cleanse: October 12-21, 2010

Honoring the change of seasons helps us realign with the pulse of Life and the energy of nature.  The transition from summer to fall is a transition from the expansive, active, sometimes frenetic energy of summer to the rooting, grounding and nourishing energy of fall.

This cleanse will help you come back home to your Self, reconnect with what is really important, clean out and find balance again after the fullness of the summer season.  This will be a time to reestablish or cultivate more healthful eating habits and nourish and cleanse your system.  In doing so, you will be giving your body a healthy foundation for winter.

Cleanse meeting times are listed below.  Pre-registration is required so let me know if you would like to join the Fall Nourish and Cleanse!

Cleanse Meeting Times:

Tuesday, October 12, 7-9 p.m.
Friday, October 15, 3:30-5 p.m.
Thursday, October 21, 5-6:30 p.m.
