• Foundations of Ayurveda: An Introduction to the Art & Science of Self-Healing
June 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2010
Learn about the wisdom of Ayurveda, India's ancient system of
natural health and healing, in this four-week class designed to give you a strong foundation in the main concepts and principles of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is an amazing science that provides a framework to understand your own unique constitution and
support healthfulness in body, mind and spirit. In this class we will learn about the foundational concepts of Ayurveda
including the five elements, the doshas (biological humors), gunas
(qualities), dinacharya (daily practices), agni (the digestive fire),
energetics of foods and much more. Ayurveda provides a framework which
you can use to support yourself in a lifetime of good health and
self-healing. Please join me in learning about this incredible ancient
system of personal health empowerment. The cost is $108 for the four classes. Pre-registration is required. Scholarships are available.
"Ayurveda
defines life as the conjunction of body, mind and spirit found in
cosmic Consciousness and embracing all of Creation." ~ Dr. Vasant Lad
Quote from recent participant, February 2010: “....w/the literally 40 years of self-exploration that I have done both personally and professionally, this has added another really supportive and helpful dimension to my current journey, and I am so grateful to you and your gentle wisdom for offering it. Thank you for creating a beautiful and transformative experience." ~ Barbara Hanna, Psychotherapist, Ellsworth, Maine

• Restorative Yoga, Sunday, May 9, 2010 from 5-7:30 p.m.
Restorative Yoga is a specific technique using bolsters, blankets and
props to support the body, which is in a completely relaxed, passive
state. The body is then gently stretched by surrendering into the
supported posture. Restorative yoga is great for releasing tension,
rejuvenating your system, and giving yourself a mini-vacation! No yoga
experience is necessary. If you have any major physical limitations
and would like to attend, please call or email me so I can accommodate
your needs. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Here are the details:

• Detox for Health & Healing with an Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse: May 18-26
Ayurvedic Spring Cleanse: May 18-26, 2010
Spring is the
time when the Earth gives us cleansing herbs and bitter greens to help
detox and clear the stagnant energy of Winter. Ayurveda, India's
system of natural health and healing which is a sister science to yoga,
encourages us to live in alignment with Nature and create a time and
space for a Spring Detox so we are supporting the energy of this season
and the natural processes of the body. This will be a simple and
manageable but effective cleanse suitable for all constitutions.
Our
initial meeting will provide detailed instructions for the cleanse and
detox supportive practices. Our mid-cleanse meeting will provide a
time to address questions and, if time permits, some gentle yoga for
detoxing. Our last meeting will be a time to conclude our cleanse with
integrative practices for moving forward. Throughout the cleanse, I am
available to answer questions and offer guidance as needed. Join me in
lightening up your body, mind and spirit with this Spring Cleanse! $95
for cleanse instruction, all three meetings and support. Herbs and
oils will be recommended for the cleanse. This cleanse is not
recommended for anyone who is pregnant or feeling very depleted.
Pre-registration is required.
Tuesday, May 18, 7-9 p.m.
Friday, May 21, 3:30-5 p.m.
Wednesday, May 26, 6-7:30 p.m.
